Quick and Easy Chickpea Curry

Name says quick and easy, but it is no compromise on flavour!

Cooking Oil 1/2 Cup
Red chilli powder1/2 Tablespoon
Turmeric powder1/2 Teaspoon
Coriander powder 1 Tablespoon
Cumin powder 1 Teaspoon
Crushed red chilli 1 Teaspoon
Black peppercorns10
Green Cardamom 3
Yogurt 3 Tablespoons
Ginger-garlic paste1 Tablespoon
Chickpeas1 Can
Fresh Coriander
  • Heat the cooking oil in a pan
  • Add the masalas to the oil- Red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder
  • Crush the black peppercorns and cardamom pods and add to the pan
  • Mix well
  • Add the yogurt
  • Add the ginger garlic paste
  • Mix well and cook for 2 minutes
  • Add the chickpeas
  • Add 1 cup water
  • Add crushed red chilli
  • Mix well
  • Cook on medium flame for 8 minutes
  • Add fresh coriander. Optional: Garnish with thinly sliced pieces of ginger and green chilli
  • Serve with rice or roti
